Testing users in their natural environment can be incredibly powerful. Remote user testing, in particular, is straightforward to implement and often uncovers insights you'd never expect.
I built an online playbook for the US Courts that documents a proven, step-by-step UX research process that contains real-world examples and pushed design thinking to new levels within the enterprise. My goal was to create a resource that not only streamlines how teams produce high-quality research artifacts but also inspires them to fully engage with the craft of user experience design. Through a calming color palette, deliberate visual hierarchy, and expressive imagery, the playbook encourages teams to slow down, think more intentionally, and embrace a deeper, more mature level of design thinking across the organization.
Design Thinking Carried Throughout
Along with process guidance, I added examples, templates, and interactive features to make the content clear and useful. The result is a tool that functions as a training guide, a creative catalyst, and a unifying framework, helping teams across the organization practice UX with greater confidence, consistency, and strategic clarity.
We always find that users of older, poorly designed software applications and outdated mobile apps are very eager to share their thoughts! They can't wait to talk to us about user experience improvements they hope to see in future product releases. Who would have guessed? Reach out to them!
